Welcome to Esslo! We’re Hadassah & Elijah, two Stanford grads who cofounded Esslo. You might have seen us featured in Inside Higher Ed or Christianity Today.
🌎 In 2024, we launched Esslo for students like us — students with big dreams but not necessarily the resources to put their best foot forward in college applications. We amassed a dataset with hundreds of essays that got into top schools and built an AI model that would give personalized, expert feedback on essay drafts. Imagine our surprise when more college counselors & IECs signed up for Esslo Unlimited than students in September!
📝 Last fall, we received a flood of emails from college counselors asking for a version of Esslo built for them. They liked Esslo because it saved them time & found insights that they missed. But they wanted more control over the feedback, better organization, and further streamlined workflows.
👂 So we listened and built! Here’s the new dashboard: The drafts are automatically sorted so you tackle what is most pressing. They are triaged according to the due date and submission for review date.
✏️ And here’s your essay editing interface. Counselors get ultimate control over Esslo’s feedback: you can edit, add, and delete everything from the line-by-line comments to the brutally honest feedback.
